Salary ranges, also known as pay ranges or grades, is a range of pay rates that the organization
has determined is the appropriate range of pay for a specific job. Each salary or pay range has a minimum
and a maximum rate of pay which establishes the acceptable rates of pay for a job in a given organization.
Normally minimally qualified applicants are paid at, or near, the minimum of the range. Fully qualified and
outstanding performers are paid nearer to the maximum of the range.
